As our client in the banking industry expanded and diversified its operations, the evolution of its suite of business portals brought recurring challenges around scalability, efficiency, and user security. With growing demands for streamlined user interfaces, increasingly complex system integrations, and heightened expectations for secure and intuitive access, the organization partnered with CABEM to develop a series of strategic technical solutions. This case study explores how innovative tools and targeted integrations—including code generation platforms, advanced logging and monitoring, and single sign-on—are enabling the institution to accelerate development, ensure robust performance, and provide a more seamless user experience across its expanding digital ecosystem.

Accelerating UI Development with Code Generation

Our client required rapid development of forms and data tables to support expanding business processes. To address this, CABEM developed a code generation platform to automate the creation of both front-end and back-end code, leveraging OpenAPI specifications. The platform is continually updated in line with the latest industry practices, allowing developers to quickly generate standard UI components and focus on implementing feature-specific details. This approach has resulted in notably reduced delivery times, enhanced consistency, improved quality, and better security. 

Modernizing Logging & Error Monitoring

With increased portal activity, our client was faced with large volumes of log data, leading to storage issues and a need for more effective error monitoring. Developers found it challenging to manage and interpret portal logs, which affected operational efficiency. To solve this, CABEM implemented Monolog for flexible log management, giving precise control over log routing by log level and environment—whether to the file system, the cloud, or both. Furthermore, Sentry is being introduced to systematically capture and track critical errors and warnings. These enhancements give developers better oversight, allowing them to proactively monitor and respond to issues and streamline maintenance efforts. 

Enhancing Security and User Experience with SSO

The rapid growth of digital services resulted in users needing access to multiple systems and portals, which caused password fatigue and increased administrative complexity around multi-factor authentication. To provide a more secure and convenient experience, CABEM is integrating the admin portal to Okta’s single sign-on (SSO) solution. This integration will simplify user access by reducing the number of passwords users must manage and will leverage robust authentication to improve security. The project is also expected to ease authentication management for administrators, supporting the client’s scale and security requirements as the system continues to grow.
